A Sad Day

I only met him once on a visit to Boston. I was staying in Newton and wandered over to Harris Cyclery to see what the shop was like. I wasn't sure what to expect given their huge web presence but the actual shop itself was a great, intimate space. After wandering around a bit, I first heard and then saw Mr Brown off to the side talking on the phone. I waited until he got off and we chatted a bit. Nothing memorable, just one cyclist to another.

I will always remember that, despite his celebrity, he was willing to find time for a chat, whether in person or via email.

I am certain Sheldon is headed for those tracks. Godspeed old friend. You will surely be missed.

Cheers

I heard about Sheldon's passing yesterday.

The only appropriate response I could think of was to go for a bike ride.

He'll be missed. I really hope Harris maintains all the info he's contributed to the world.
